Buchuan Zheng is an electric guitarist and composer from Beijing. He has been studying electric guitar in Weimar with Frank Möbus since 2018. Since then, he has focused his output on improvised music and avant-garde. In 2022, he released his debut album I "the birth of flying whale" together with Yefan Zhu. Buchuan has developed into an important and virtuoso voice in Thuringia's jazz landscape and recently performed with jazz legends Matthias Bauer and Bill Egart. Since 2023 he has been studying at HKB Bern with Ronny Graupe, Django Bates and Jim Black and on 2024 he will be playing with Joëlle Léandre at the JazzWerkstatt Festival Bern.
